While the history of the toy figurine goes back to the time of the pharaohs it wasn’t until the 1950’s when plastic figurines became the staple of every child’s toy box throughout the world. For generations the toy figurine has been a mirror to the events of global popular culture allowing millions of fans, young and old to re-write history, right wrongs or simply have the united front of cowboys and Indians invade the sofa fortress of a nazi moon base on zeblon 5.

Unfortunately the desired commercialization of these miniature worlds spurred by Hollywood cinema encouraged a second hand proliferation of pop culture’s stereotypes and racial and ethnic prejudices. The poses and facial expressions portray the popularized savage Indian, the ferocious barbarian and raucous gunslinger to name a few. But what these worlds of imagination lack in correctness (for their time) they make up for in a modern multi-dimensional application and exploration in color, value, temperature and meaning.
